Unexplained Phenomenon Google Doodle

For a few hours now the Google homepage has displayed an unexplained phenomenon google doodle in several countries across the world. Although Google continue to surprise us on a daily basis this is something a little bit extraordinary in itself and it is confusing people across the globe.

It is being displayed in several countries including Russia, Germany, Australia and the UK.
Like a lot of Google doodles you can click on it and it takes you through to an unexplained phenomenon results page!

So what is all about?

Well to be totally honest, I haven't got a clue. Is Google playing a little joke with us? Is Google simply toying with us, laughing at us and sitting in their Google headquarters loving the twists and turns it can send the Internet through in an instant?

If it hasn't happened already I am sure the US will wake up to the same thing this morning and be just as confused as the rest of the world.

Perhaps at some point today Google will enlighten us on this strange behaviour. Perhaps that's the whole point behind this unexplained phenomenon Google doodle. That there is no point, there is no explanation, there is no hard evidence just like an unexplained alien event!
